Health Checks for Pets ?

Today more and more people are availing of the routine health screens offered at doctors to monitor for early signs of illness, before it is too late. Various schemes like BUPA, provide examinations, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring and ECG's to check for illness in later life. These tests are also available for your pet.

It has been estimated that 10% of elderly cats may be missed in the early stages of kidney disease, before the onset of illness. These could be identified earlier by blood tests and an appropriate diet change and medication prescribed to prolong their life.

Similarly many cardiac cases in dogs are presented late because of lack of screening. If you are interested in these screening tests to provide quality care for you dog or cat please contact the surgery. Animals over 7 years can benefit from routine screening.

The Rose Cottage FIT FOR LIFE Health Screen includes a comprehensive urine analysis, blood analysis, full clinical examination including an ageing profile and blood pressure assessment. For further details please contact the surgery where we will be glad to discuss this scheme further.
