Farm animal services.

Here at Rose Cottage we deal with a wide range of farm animal species including cows, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, alpacas and llamas. A vet is available 24 hours a day for any farm animal emergency.

Services we offer include; 

• Routine herd fertility visits. This includes pregnancy diagnosis, pre and post calving checks, synchronisation and examination of cows with fertility problems.

• Herd and flock health checks. We will do an extensive evaluation of your farm including productivity figures and general husbandry. We will produce a written documentation including recommendations to increase and improve your farm's productivity. 

• Blood samples can be analysed at the surgery. Bulk and individual milk samples can be sent to the laboratory to analyse for BVD, Leptospirosis, IBR and Johne's. Our vets can provide a detailed analysis of the results and make recommendations. 

• Vaccination and worming. Our vets are always available to recommend the best vaccination and worming protocol for your farm. 

We are also available for routine work such as dis-budding, dehorning, castration and foot trimming.

We have the facilities at the surgery to perform goat disbudding, lambings, sheep caesareans and surgical procedures.
