Autumn usually sees the end of myxomatosis cases in rabbits. Tragically we have seen 4 cases today (10th of October 2009) which has concerned us that there is increased risk to our pet rabbits of contracting the disease this late in the season. Spread of the virus is by biting vectors (eg fleas or more commonly for our pets, midge / mosquito family insects). We are advising all pet owners to booster their rabbits immunity. Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment. |
